Diwali is one of the most sacred and celebrated festivals in
India that denotes the rows of lights. It is the occasion that is filled with
lights and love, a family time when Indian all over the world cherishes. It is
celebrated on the 13/14 day in the dark half of kartik, also known as Krishna
Chaturdashi as per our Hindu mythology. It is the darkest night of the darkest
period and still is known to celebrate with lights or diyas. This holy festival
is victory of good over evil and light over dark.
It is rejoiced throughout the length and breath of the
country with different rituals and manners. It is celebrated to honor the
return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. It is the festival of
lights and festivities. This festival comes twenty days after Dussehra, which
is mostly in the winters mostly in the month of October/November. It is said
that this festival brings peace, good health and prosperity in each other’s
life and is celebrated with gifts and sweets. It is considered to be an
auspicious day to worship the goddess Lakshmi, the wife of Vinod that
represents wealth and good luck.Even in many companies, the owners or the head
officials perform pooja where each and every employee participates to pray for
the prosperity and good will of the company.
As the festival comes, people start to buy new traditional
clothes and thus, bring lot of sales and profit to many retail stores and
markets. Paints and lights are also very much in demand during this season. On
this festival, many families or company owner start getting their offices and
house thoroughly cleaned, white washed and decorated with lights, pictures,
paintings and beautiful flowers. The entire place is decorated with lights or
diyas and everyone celebrates it with fun and eagerness.After the pooja,
everyone give sweets and exchange gifts amongst each other. The corporate heads
